About the right team member

​​We are looking for a talented, hard-working team player with a minimum of four years of relevant experience to join our legal team and support both Mindbody and ClassPass. This is a unique opportunity to work on a wide variety of exciting and challenging matters in a fast-paced and collaborative environment where you can really make a difference. In this role, you will draft and negotiate a wide variety of contracts; advise on legal risks, business strategies, and other issues related to commercial transactions and general operations; and provide support in other legal subject areas.​ 

About the role

  • ​​Draft and negotiate contracts ​ 
  • Interpret contract requirements, obligations and risk exposure and advise on same 
  • Provide legal and strategic business advice to help develop a comprehensive, long-term approach to the commercial aspects of our products and programs 
  • Educate business partners on key commercial, legal, corporate policy and other considerations to ensure timely performance and adherence to terms of contracts 
  • Facilitate the timely closure of business transactions while minimizing risk exposure 
  • Identify and mitigate risks and liabilities 
  • Advise business teams in a variety of domestic and international locations 
  • Provide legal support for other departments and initiatives as required 
  • All other duties as assigned 

Skills & experience

  • J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state bar 
  • Minimum 4-6 years of relevant legal experience, including 2+ years working in-house within the technology industry
  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity 
  • Experience in leading contract negotiations  
  • Strong business acumen 
  • Experience advising clients and managing projects on deadlines with minimal supervision 
  • Experience collaborating with business teams and other members of the legal team (regulatory, product, privacy, etc.) to ensure business needs are met 
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate complex legal points and concepts to a diverse array of internal stakeholders 
  • Familiarity with legal issues associated with cloud computing and software as a service (SaaS) preferred; ability to quickly learn new software applications and technologies and associated legal issues 
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills 
  • Strong proofreading skills 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, sometimes ambiguous environment 
  • Willingness to take on matters outside your primary practice areas  
  • Willingness and ability to work extended hours when necessary to complete a project

It is Mindbody’s intent to pay all Team Members competitive wages and salaries that are motivational, fair and equitable. The goal of Mindbody’s compensation program is to be transparent, attract potential employees, meet the needs of all current employees, and encourage Team Members to stay with our organization.

Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. The base salary range for this position in the United States is $141,000 to $211,500.

The total compensation package for this position may also include performance bonus, stock, benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
