About the right team member

Mindbody is looking for a Product Analytics Lead to join our company within Mindbody’s Finance and Operational Analytics team. As a founding member of the Product Analytics function, this role will help drive Product and Engineering strategy by conducting ad-hoc and ongoing analyses to help evaluate product health, assess new opportunities, and optimize product experience. This team member will independently drive workstreams utilizing a wide range of analytical skillsets and capabilities – such as writing SQL queries, building Excel models, designing and analyzing product events, designing A/B tests, and conducting user research. Our ideal team member thrives at synthesizing large amounts of information and “cutting through” to actionable insights and succinct recommendations in a highly dynamic environment.

About the role

  • Strategically determine key health metrics for various segments of the Mindbody product, developing and maintaining dashboards and reports to monitor these metrics effectively
  • Generate hypotheses, then evaluate via structured analyses that distill data and business/financial models into synthesized insights to help identify, scope, and size product opportunities
  • Partner with Product Managers and Business Intelligence to maintain, evolve, and leverage third-party product analytics tools (e.g. Pendo, Mixpanel, Google Analytics etc)
  • Complete ad hoc analyses in partnership with key stakeholders with flexibility and ownership mentality detail (i.e., “do the work, but also shape the work”), utilizing an array of different analytical skillsets (SQL queries, secondary research, surveys/consumer research, outside-in competitive analyses, A/B testing, Excel modeling)
  • Support insight delivery to company leadership and Board of Directors via structured and synthesized communications (i.e., write punchy and succinct emails that evidence principles of strong executive communication, build well-polished Powerpoint decks with highly effective data visualizations, anticipate questions and follow-ups)
  • Work cross-functionally with product leaders and subject matter experts to ensure that decisions are optimized for maximizing business performance and informed by rigorous data analysis
  • Partner closely with FP&A and Business Intelligence teams to champion a culture of data-driven decision making and expand the analytical capabilities of the organization

Skills & experience

  • Strong work experience in a hands-on analytical role, product strategy, management consulting, business intelligence, or other similar role
  • Strong quantitative skills (can be evidenced in many ways – college coursework, prior job experience in a quantitative field, etc.) . Experience with product analytics tools and behavior event instrumentation and tracking a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Excel modeling; experience with other data analysis tools and languages like R, Python, Looker preferred
  • Excellent written and visual communication skills; proven ability to clearly communicate analytical insights across all levels of stakeholders (business, technical, and executives)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a flexible, team-oriented attitude; willingness to quickly pivot to new projects as required by business needs
