Job summary 

The Business Systems Analyst II is responsible for administering our Salesforce environments and integrated applications. This role requires previous experience as a Salesforce administrator and will be support a combination of “keep the lights on” requests, small- to medium-sized enhancements, and larger projects. This role also includes partnering with internal business teams, such as our Go-to-Market, Finance, Product, and Customer Service teams, to align on requirements, technical solutions, development strategies, and company priorities.   

Minimum qualifications and requirements

  • 2+ years’ experience in Salesforce administration
  • Salesforce Administrator certification (ADM01)
  • Skilled in providing day-to-day Salesforce support, such as managing users and error troubleshooting 
  • Skilled in declarative Salesforce configuration, such as validation rules, flows, and object management
  • Ability to learn new Salesforce integrated applications based on business need 
  • Can find creative and sustainable solutions to a wide variety of requests/requirements 
  • Uses best practices to improve our systems and meet delivery expectations 
  • Excellent oral and written communication and documentation skills
  • Able to customize and adapt communication to meet the interest, needs, and technical levels of various stakeholders and partners 
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience 
  • Preferred: Additional Salesforce certifications
  • Preferred: Familiarity with more advanced Salesforce configuration, such as VisualForce or Salesforce Lightning Web Components 
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Salesforce CPQ 
  • Preferred: Experience supporting Salesforce integrated applications, such as Gainsight, Marketo, Glance, SpringCM, or others

Principal duties and responsibilities

  • Administration and configuration of Salesforce production and sandbox environments 
  • Administration and configuration of other Salesforce-integrated business applications as needed 
  • Review inbound work requests for supported applications and troubleshoot issues as appropriate 
  • Perform data work (such as mass inserts and updates) via approved data management tools 
  • Participate in user requirement gathering sessions, discovery sessions, and testing sessions 
  • Participate in established release and change management processes 
  • Collaborate with fellow Salesforce Administrators and other teams such as Business Analysts, Architects, Project Managers, and stakeholders in the business to define and deliver new tools and functionality for our business systems 
  • Thoroughly test new features and functionality built by yourself, other member of the team, and/or contractors/third party vendors 
  • Identify and track potential system issues/bugs/degradations and escalate as necessary 
  • Define and document progress, solutions, and processes as necessary   
  • All other duties as assigned

Work environment

  • This position is mostly stationary 
  • This role regularly utilizes a computer, including the use of a monitor, mouse and keyboard 
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet

Scope of supervision and authority

Duties are performed under limited supervision. Often responsible for planning and organizing their own work, which may or may not be directly related to general business operations of the company or its customers. Will receive training and guidance from manager as needed. Individual contributors may be required to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance depending on the nature of the position. No direct management responsibility.
