Associate User Researcher - Mindbody

JOB FAMILY SUMMARY: Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify, design and conduct user research using a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods. Analyze findings and deliver clear and compelling insights to drive the product road map across the entire product life cycle, from early road map planning, to experience design refinement, to post-release validation. Drive customer intuition and empathy across the product organization and beyond.

JOB SUMMARY:  The Associate User Researcher helps design and execute user research studies, providing actionable insights to help develop Mindbody’s products and services. This role provides support to plan and conduct studies that will inspire and influence others to develop experience improvements.


  • BA/BS degree in psychology, sociology, physical or social sciences required.
  • Additional coursework or post-secondary education in human factors, HCI, user research, user-centered design, etc. preferred.
  • 0-2 years’ experience working as a User Researcher or doing experimental design, data handling & analysis, statistics and/or qualitative analysis.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, collaboration, organizational and communication skills.
  • Curiosity about how people think, feel and behave, what motivates them, and their contexts of behavior and use of technology.
  • Interest in learning and perfecting your user research toolkit and continuously evolving.


  • Providing research support to the broader user research team, and/or 1-2 project teams.
  • Partnering with other researchers to design research studies and define appropriate research methodologies.
  • Working closely with our internal research recruiter to find the right participants, and learning how to support your own participant recruiting as needed.
  • Conducting research and analyzing findings.
  • Collaborating with other researchers to deliver qualitative and quantitative recommendations and feedback to key stakeholders.
  • Learning and employing new user research methodologies.
  • All other duties as assigned.


  • Travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard.
  • This position is mostly stationary and will be required to remain stationary for extended periods of time.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet.

SCOPE OF SUPERVISION/AUTHORITY: Duties are performed under limited supervision. Often responsible for planning and organizing their own work, which may or may not be directly related to general business operations of the company or its customers. Will receive training and guidance from manager as needed. Individual contributors may be required to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance depending on the nature of the position. No direct management responsibility.
