About the right team member
The Collections Specialist is a key member of the Payments Risk team, assisting customers in resolving failed payouts and outstanding balances on their processing accounts. This position collaborates closely with other teams to resolve billing issues and continuously maintain a One Voice attitude with our clients.
About the role
- Monitor accounts to identify outstanding balances
- Update account status records and collections efforts
- Take actions to encourage timely payments
- Contact clients about failed payouts and outstanding balances
- Report on collection activity and losses
- Analyzes past due accounts and initiates collection efforts verbally or in writing
- Responds to inbound email and telephone inquiries from customers; reply / resolve in a
- timely and professional manner
- Outbound calls to merchants using various methods to ensure clear communication and resolve issues efficiently.
- Processes, prepares and sends invoices to customers in a timely fashion
- Works with Payments Risk and accounting teams to communicate losses new and existing customers are invoiced accurately and in alignment with contractual terms
- All other duties as assigned
Skills & experience
- 1-2 years of collections experience, preferably in Ecommerce, SaaS or Payments.
- Minimum of 2 years customer service experience
- Understanding of Card Brand rules and regulations
- Proficiency of Microsoft Office products
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to handle client issues with confidence, patience, and poise
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Able to adapt writing to match MINDBODY’s tone of voice and style.
- Experience in SQL a plus
